Dreams to sell...

Red glow traffic signal powers on,
Deep red rose bunches string held,
Blooming smiling florals in fragile hands,
Bright they were against dusty traffic maze,
Rich so much like warmth on a winter’s day,
Glances caught of her held a few moments,
A brave beauty,
Lonely she seemed,
Wistful she strode,
Standing out against a drab watertight planned day gone by,
We toil for sky high dreams to live on…
She toiled just to sustain life for another day...
Wonder I did at that glimpse…
Flowers she sold for survival,
Trapped in life’s schemes,
Compromises may be for a quarter day’s supper,
Intriguing tired pair of eyes,
Did they also have a dream once..
Were they created void and expressionless…
Were they shattered by the day...
Did she shudder at the thought of night..
Did she sell her dreams...

That girls dream lives when she sells off the roses from her hand. That life is tough but they hope they can survive.

Profound. You are definitely evolving. Think of it how many of us sell may b are forced to sell dreams?

Bold topic to write a poem on… appreciating your eyes that see the compassionate too…
They sell their dreams, their lives, and their innocence in an effort to make ends meet..to sustain the gift of survival… some orphaned, some destined, some forced… life trails, how it ends is out of question… They do hv smaller dreams… of better food ...to sleep under a shelter so soothing that they forget the din around, the misery surrounding…
An absolutely nice read…. like a picture, a moving picture… Mumbai isn’t? A land where everyone can dream and achieve it too…btw whr r these pics fm?

Hi Seema,

I am back from Korea..
You have been amazingly prolific in recent times.. good going and great stuff as usual..

Though everything is sold these days.. dreams are something that are still to be pursued.. after all, it is what that makes our lives purposeful..

Its definitely sad to see the plight of the less priveleged.. but hopefully they too will find a reason to dream.. and to smile!!

Take Care :)

Blog hopping I reached here. This is really touchy one. While they sell dreams, life is a struggle for them.
